    Nice looking wagon Banjo.
I see it has Vic plates on it!
Did you drive it home and if so how does it go with the V8 and the 5 speed, does still rev fairly hard at highway speeds or has it also got higher diffs in it?

    Cheers, Mick.

Na Mick its not registered Drifter trailered it up here for me from Canberra , I brought it off him..

Should'nt rev to hard with the 5 speed in it..Still has standard diffs in it..

I cant see it reving to hard either as the engine wont be working as hard to push it along now..

Looks like a great project banjo and I bet it sounds great I'm impressed that your making spare "power steering " parts, I wonder if they fit dormobiles
The dormobile has eight leaves on the rear springs and it had eleven leaves on the front. The rear leaves are a lot thicker than the fronts.
I tried parabolic springs on the dormobile and thought they were awful, they lifted the back end about 65 mm and made the car feel like it wanted to tip over. I've since had the original springs rebuilt, Pedders did the rear ones but I'm not impressed. Bayside Springs did the front springs, he removed one leaf as I wanted a softer ride, he then reset them to the correct height. These now work perfectly and I'm going to get him to do the rear springs again as the rear sits down 20mm lower

I'm not sure if the stage 1 V8 springs are the same or not.

I think the leaks on the front drivers door is the rubbers..Which i will be replacing with defender rubbers all round..
Was there any water on the passenger side where I put that new rubber?

The drivers side always leaked because of the door seal rubber. That was on the replacement list (the passenger side got done) before I sold it.

Replace those seals and she's a good un.

Those were the only 2 doors that leaked - and the rubber isn't too good around the back doors - but they still seem to seal.

    Have fun!

yup - it sounds real good idling.... maybe a bit advanced and needs the timing set up properly - but it idles nicely - quiet burble from the exhaust...

Banjo - don't forget to put that exhaust manifold on it - you wouldn't believe the trouble we went to getting it - the one that is on there I had welded and stitched (one hole and 5 cracks) before we found a replacement - and the old one has stumps for studs where the front pipe bolts on. You better check that both nuts are still there Sorry Karen

hehe - I miss the bloody thing.

Might be an idea to haul those plates off it and stick them on your shed wall or something, Jason. That series of plates has expired and won't be reissued so, while they are supposed to be returned to ACT Motor Registry, I don't think anyone will miss them.

I've never ever owned a landy with one of these .How lucky am i

Those wheel nuts are standard for the late Series 2a vehicles.

Remember: that towing capacity is in pounds, not kilos - and I wouldn't put too much credence in it... until that engine is redone.

The towing capacity only works out to 2 tons so it's the standard towing capacity.
