Well i did'nt start the steering column like i said i was going to..But I noticed the hood lining just above the drivers head had bad rust & was'nt fixable , it was the bit that screws to the roof a bit of metal that runs the width of the roof.. so started to pull it out, glad i did but wish i had'nt..
Was holding water ya can see the mould
Took the plates off , more for the wall
Gave it a coat of white rust epoxy paint..
I will make another one later down the track just want to get it registered .I will make the metal bit that holds it there from alloy.
SSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH dont tell John i pulled it all out..
Gotta say even with all the doors & vents open its still not a good place to be with paint stripper & then epoxy paint.. Finished it today & i think me head is still spinning..

Here yas go a little update.
I've been flipping the sparewheel carrier so it opens with the door Have'nt got all the pics taken of it yet..
Made the bottom bracket its now longer so theres more room for when it opens..
Welded & painted
OMG i have never seen one fitted like this before & no its not just pushed through it on backwards..HAHAHAHAHA
Now i gave the inside a bit of a clean & a vacumn out scrubs up good..
Well i dont realy have the room to paint this one just yet & i have to paint Harry first so i thought id just give a little bit a polish & see how it was..The front gaurds & bonnet are badly scratched & faded but will polish the whole car when im finished working on it..
ALSO brought all the shocks & all the bushes for the springs & chassis.Got a full polly bush kit but also brought the standard rubber ones for the springs as i usualy use them in the springs & polly on the chassis..Brought a duel brake master cylinder Have the new booster.Brought new defender door rubbers for the front door & ordered the rest.Brought 2 baily channel kits as some need fixing & that will be plenty.Im going to use the same spring as on the green one & Harry even tho i dont realy like them but at $65 each brandnew i cant complain. So far all up with all four springs & Ubolts nuts & all the other bits its $650..
Had another pic but its not working GGGGRRRRRRRRR...

Crikey, you have been a busy little vegemite Jase!!!!
i like the station wagons they have alot more interesting, it seems like yours is a very good one for doing up all complete fairly tidy.looking forward to another rebuild
Ok a small update..
Im thinking that this isnt right but ahwell ..
Im guessing there was a second skin & someone has cut the outer one..
New rear springs
Bushes in the springs. This is the first time i have used the poly bushes in the springs.I usualy just use the ruber ones in the springs & poly in the chassis..
Jacked up & on stands with some rims & tyres behind under the tow bar.A cousin of mine just lost a cousin of hers cause a CAR fell on him while he was working under so thought id make it look good..
Old springs out
New springs ready to go in
Chassis bushes in
Back on the ground & seems to be siting level But when i do the front it wont be it will look like the bum is dragging. Its just these springs green one was same so had to use military shackles on the rear so will now have to find some more for it..
Old springs where 8 leaf.
New springs are 11 leafs.
While it has been raining i have been doing this ..
All cleaned up
Painted. But need to finish the bottom bit as i needed to change to a smaller brush.
Im not happy with the springs but they will do for now.If you use them all 4 & use standard shackles on all 4 it will sit down at the back.So you have to use the military shackles on the rear. But at only $65 each new cant complain..I think i may try some parabolics later down the track as funds are available..Or at least a differant surplier & brand..
Once i put the wheel carrier on with the spare it will sit level with the military shackles..I cant keep throwiing money at the suspension just to get them to sit right..Idealy i would like it to sit slightly higher in the rear with the spare wheel on that way when we load it up & have the camper on it will sit level not dagging on the ground..Have to get it sorted though or i'll end up gettin the ****s & sell all of em & go buy a toyota or nissan or something..I wanna start enjoying them not spending time & money just to get the things to sit right..
