Hi Rod,

Yeh, I'm not a bling sort of person at all and even my Defender 90 is stornoway grey and black, but I had to sit and stare at those for a bit! :-)

They look even better in the rebuilt axles!

My original ones looked about as bad as Is Vic There's, so there was no option of not "fixing" them.

Contract work has been a bit sporadic of late, so parts have been slow arriving and I've literally only rebuilt the two axles in the past 12 weeks, which gave me a LOT of time to faf over them...

I'll need to do a bit of an update on my own build thread "New Acquisition".

Had a great morning with the Lad, took all the parts down from the racking and off the container and sorted them out!
Put everything that we don't need on a pallet and this will go to a mate who will put them to good use, had a good check on what we have and made a few notes then put it back on the racking!

I'd had the rims blasted a few weeks ago, they also primed them, unfortunately the primer had gone two hard to paint and had to be rubbed down and reprimed! 2 hours latter we'd finished, very happy with my lad as he didn't moan once!

Not one anything on the 2a for a while, been busy painting the house!
Back on it Sunday, got all the engine bits together and gave them a good clean, they will be painted in the next week or so ready for assembly.
Discovered that the rear diff is knackered and have been given a replacement one which we found was knackered as well, so I'll collect another one this week and hopefully this one will be ok. Once the diffs are done I can fit them, put new tyres on the wheels and get her rolling which will be a turning point!

Not been on here for a while, usual story of house stuff, kids stuff and the like!

Bit of an update, engine has been rebored and everything checked, all parts to rebuild it have been bought and she has had a lick of paint. Going to be built in the next few weeks just waiting for a mate (who is helping) to say he's ready!
The springs and a few other bits have been painted and the diffs are nearly done as well, just need them painted and we should be on a roll!
