Well, this morning didn't start to well with the lad saying he was sick! I made him come with me and after an hour he turned round and thanked me for making him! I was made up with that!
Four hours in and we'd done what we wanted!

The most important thing is we'd had a great talk and a laugh, can't do that on a computer!
Well he named him "Bullet" due to finding a shell case!

Looks to have had a few modifications under the bonnet - these may cause a bit of head scratching trying to work out what is meant to go where and what parts are needed for repairs/maintenance.

You will have to make a few decisions about what to keep.

But you are certainly getting stuck into it!

John, apart from the electrics what other mods has she had? Obviously I'm new to all this and wouldn't know what is standard or not!

Alternator was not fitted originally. Worthwhile change provided itis done properly.
It has exhaust extractors - which leads to queries about whether it has had other changes such as increased compression.
There are two hydraulic reservoirs - should only be one divided one - I wonder why it was changed?
Looks to have a Stromberg Carburetter and the Holden air cleaner to go with it (a frequent conversion - s/h Holden carbs a lot cheaper and easier than fixing the original Solex or Zenith).
What is that Junction box on the firewall near the hydraulic reservoirs - it did not come from Rover.
Fan cowl on the radiator is missing (or have you already removed it?).

    Hope this helps,

    John

Is that a welded patch on the near-side front chassis rail, visible behind front tyre in the first pic?

The patch is to support an aftermarket steering damper which looks shocking (get it) This will come off when we get to the chassis rebuilding.

It has one brake master cylinder and one clutch master cylinder, the exhaust manifold looks quite sporty! It going to get a new wiring harness as you can see the one that's on it has been bodged beyond belief and would take far too much time to sort out, especially since its older than me!

All in all she's in not that bad nick, next Saturday we shall tackle the bulkhead, any tips for this?

    Just did mine.

This link takes you to my summary

but you might want to suffer the previous few pages - it took me three weeks to get one of the bolts out .

That link takes you to one post but doesn't allow you to surf the preceding pages. This should be better, and it's at the start of the journey.
