When you investigate blasters make sure you ask them if they have experience in blasting car panels, if they heat the panel up too much there is a chance that the heat will twist the metal, that would be a nightmare!

Chassis number is on the LH side rear back spring hanger, facing out - on Australian built 2As. If it was built elsewhere, the number could be on the outside of the chassis, RH front, of somewhere else. It should also be on the plate on the bulkhead that shows transfer case operation, but this is unreliable and carries no legal status because the plate is just screwed on.
For all chassis positions, the surface may need wire brushing and possibly etching to show the number. And there is always the possibility that that part of the chassis has been replaced.

Another great Saturday morning working on the 2a, great to spend time with my lad, he's getting well into it as well.
Took the engine and box out, gave them a good steam clean ready for stripping in the next few weeks.
Also gave the chassis a good degrease and steam clean, very happy with the progress so far.
Next week we'll tray and get all the ancillaries removed from the chassis and get it off to the sand blasters ready for the Ho Har's to repair it.
Really enjoying this project so far.
