HI Colin
Looking at your picture and at my original set up (as per picture attached I can not really see any bracket behind the inertia reel.
Looks like the original top bolt has just been removed and the inertia reel bolted in.

						Hello Rod,
The first photograph shows the reinforcing plate spot welded onto the back of one of my truck cabins that holds the inertia reel part of the seat belt.
Is this what you were describing in your post?
The second photograph shows one of the most unusual set ups for a inertia reel seatbelt in my vehicles. There is a bracket bolted to the top cap/rail in the tub section of what was once a hard top. The side panels and roof did not come with the spare parts vehicle so I am unsure of how the top anchor bolt was secured.
Kind Regards
Lionel
Hi Lionel, i took some pics this morning of my s3. See attatched. Im not sure how the belts mount in a truck cab as i dont have one nor have i seen a s3 like it. I hope this helps.
The second pic is of the strengthening plate spot welded to the tub. Its the left side as the spare is in the way but they are in the same place L&R.

Hello again.
Looking at the photos, and especially the retractor unit, it appears that the belts are probably not-standard fitment for that model. They are different to the belts that were factory fitted to my 1975 truck anyway.
Perhaps they have been added as a later fitting exercise rather than the original belts ex-factory. Could be wrong.
The photo of the upper side mount seems to have an aerial cable running through the correct bolt retaining hole(?).
Cheers,
Neil
The retractor unit has just been replaced by me as the belt was frayed by being caught in the door lock a few times. That tube is actually a gbox and transfer case breather tube fitted by the PO. The top mount can also be used to mount the top belt point as well.

The pic of the standards that the anchorages meet are for a standard lap/sash type belt, not an inertia type. Those inertia belts, along with the tub mounting are a later fitment. I have never seen a factory inertia belt fitted to any series that I have seen, all have been a lap sash type( I could be wrong, often am) The first inertia factory fitments were in the Countys in Australia as far as I know. This would account for the varied types of mounts displayed here.
