I found part # MTC4090 for the mount for the inertia reel. There is also part # MRC8524 which attaches to MTC4090, but this might be used on later models like the County.

    Thanks!
They look like the parts for the 2 door 110 (Perentie too) and they will likely fit on the SIIA (where there aren't any fuel fillers) and the good thing is that they meet current ADR.
The one with the captive bolts mount under the front lip of the tub (the little shelf I mentioned) it attaches to the outer tab on the chassis using the same pair of bolts that hold the tub. The other bracket mounts on top of the front lip of the tub between the rear wall of the transom and the return where the lock striker is mounted. You'll have to drill two holes for the captive bolts,

They wont fit on an 88" and more importantly I'm very sure that the fuel filler hose and the fuel tank on a SIIA will obstruct the inertia reel mountings on both the 109" and 88" with under seat fuel tanks.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Hello All,

Since Dark and Colin both mentioned the link with the comment that it might have been "lost forever" I went on a hunt for it.

The infamous link - well for me anyway as I quoted the wrong part number and hence introduced the wrong part into the mix was ....

Accessed April 27th 2016 from, Fitting New Seatbelts to a s3 109 Truck Cab

If you click on Moocar's link from Perth it has an exploded view diagram of how the TRUCK CABIN style main bracket components all fit together - with part numbers that are most likely superseded by now. Accessed April 27th 2016 from, Fitting New Seatbelts to a s3 109 Truck Cab

    More confusion

    Lionel,

    Hello from Brisbane.

Although the vehicle in point here is not a truck cab, I believe the topic of truck cab seat belts can be even a little more vexed if the question of the wheelbase length is thrown into the mix.

I believe the rear cabin bulkheads for 88" and 109" models are different as are the mounting arrangements for the retractor unit. That is why the 88" models don't generally have an adjustable driver's seat and are more suited to someone as tall as a rhesus monkey.

    Cheers,

    Neil

Absolutely correct, in the 88" the wall of the transom starts immediately behind the seat box where the 109" have a little shelf arrangement about 4" wide, which is where the inertia reel can be mounted.

In an 88" the only place to easily mount the inertia reel would be on the rear side of the transom and even that would not be possible with a truck cab roof.

Possibly so for a Series 2 - but the Series 3 88" truck cabs have the reel unit located on the bulkhead beside the seats inside the cab - but not on the floor where the other mount is located. The issue is that the RHS reel attaching point has a different bolt arrangement to the LHS reel attaching point (i.e. the nut is inside the cabin facing forward vs outside and accessed from under the rear mudguard). It can also be a pig to access and remove when rusty because you cant access the bolt head............

    Cheers,

I found those parts but they don't look like the parts in the picture of mine.
Maybe it changed over the years, maybe AUS vehicles used a different mount ??

Both my s3 LWB and a second hand s3 LWB tub i recently purchased for my s2a, have inertia reel seat belts fitted. The reel is bolted to the tub behind the front seats with a bolt and nut through the tub and an extra reinforcing plate on the back. Ive just fitted a new seatbelt to my s3 drivers side. I used a belt to suit a holden with a 450mm hard stalk instead of the soft belt as its kept away from just laying around in the dirt and dusty bits at the bottom of the seats. Works great and its a direct replacement for what was actually fitted on assembly.
    Perfect fit.

    Cheers Rod
