Well done mate time to enjoy it
I feel your pain......I made a handbrake gaiter a couple of years ago Handbrake Gaiter
I found a supplier for butyl rubber tape Butyl Rubber Tape problem is the link is a bit out of date. They were in Dandenong and I could probably find them again if anyone wants some, heavy stuff to freight though....
I used glazing silicon on one of my Land Rovers but now I have the tape I'll probably use that in future.
Best of luck with the roadworthy.

So what's the story behind the name?
IMG_3161.jpg Ruby ....Missus's Puma 90

IMG_3166.jpgJade on trailer coming home after passing roadworthy and gaining registration.
I was quite anxious about roadworthy and registration but it went well
Roadworthy guy was stoked with car saying it was so good to see old Land Rovers being put back on the roadand when was I doing my next one
Only problem with that is I haven't been entirely honest with the financial controller about the cost of the project......I think the dog ate some invoices
Jade is on full Victorian registration as a five seater wagon .....three in front, two in back, no seatbelts or anywhere to mount them, and with no roof.
will be interesting if I ever get pulled over by the constabulary, how can you wear seatbelts if they are not there, and no the vehicle is not a ute. I hope registration details, age etc trumps Police rule book.
Cheers Paul
Check out VSI 21 on the VicRoads website regarding seatbelts.
Not a legal requirement (in VIC) till 1/1/1971 in an offroad passenger vehicle, maybe print off a copy to carry with you. I haven't had any issues with my Series I.
If they are fitted to a vehicle prior to the above date and you're not wearing them it's an offence.

Bit of an up date 120 miles on clock Jades getting more outings than Pearl or Ruby😊
Filled passenger tank to capacity to check fuel gauge ....all good😊 But......sun was on that side of car and fuel expanded leaking out of cap and running down side of tub.....bubbling paint and dissolving it as it went😫"........not happy Jan 😢
Took car for a 20k run to burn of a bit of fuel and on return felt vibration from somewhere
got home first thought was maybe I'd thrown a wheel balance weight of a front wheel juggled wheels vibration still there.
Had a good look under and found about 1/8" side play in one of the rear Uni joints fortunately I had a new uni in box a mate had given me, popped it in vibration gone😊
Sanded back paint and resprayed side of tub so alls good again.
BE WARNED........Agricultural Enamal for all its good points for an amature spraypainter doesn't like petrol or brake fluid
As a beside 40mph on speedo is actually 52mph on gps and car was rolling along quiet happily
won't try recalabrating speedo until I get original rims and tyres on.......still waiting for Dunlop super gripper roaded tyres from the local guy".........should of bought a full set when I had a chance instead of two😱
Cheers Paul

Happened to be sitting at the Bemm pub the week before Christmas and saw an excellent looking Series cruise past! I was pumped at seeing a vehicle who's rebuild thread I had been following in the flesh! Unfortunately I was unable to come over and check it out but from what I saw pictures on this thread don't do it justice!
Great Job and thanks for allowing us along for the ride!
