Tube painted. It was going to need a lot of work if I was to fix it up to a good condition, so I figured I would paint it as is and keep an eye out for another tube in better condition in the future.
I know I should have waited till tomorrow to put the badge on but I just couldnt resist!

Edit, updated photo with lights installed.

Tub looks very straight from what I can see, why do you want to replace it?

Very much like the matt finish.

Looks straight because of all the bog. I suspect both sides bow inwards and they have filled it all with bog.
When I first noticed it I was going to remove it and see the damage but once I realised how much there was I decided to just leave it.
I certainly won't be looking for a new tub. But if I ever see one locally in better condition I'll probably grab it.

Its starting to look like a car again. Collecting a reconditioned tail gate this weekend during a camping trip. Mine looks like it may have been reversed into a tree 3 or 4 times. Hopefully get a chance to connect up the clutch and brakes and see how they go before I leave.

Looking great, its good to have it at that stage, over the hump. Cant wait till mine is at that stage too. I was told that the tailgates tend to come off and run over, hence they get the banana shape...

Looking real good, just a wee bit ahead of mine.
Gives me inspiration. Actually, it’s not inspiration I need, it’s time...

Drove it up and down the driveway today. Pretty exciting. Brakes don't work so well. So will need to look into that... but the biggest issue is it blows an ass ton of black smoke and runs rough when idling. Smells strong of fuel. It has a new aftermarket (which I assume means Chinese) zenith carby. I played with the fuel mixture screw and it didn't seem to change it in the slightest. Even fulling turned in the engine kept running rich.

I know nothing about carbys at all, so if anyone has an idea what could be wrong I would love a suggestion on what to check. It definitely didn't blow this sort of smoke with the old holden carby. I did go look at the site from where I bought it and I notice it is listed for a 1968 and on series 2a. I assume that the 2.25 engine for then would be the same as mine, or have I assumed incorrectly....?

The O-ring between the top and lower parts of the Zenith is probably leaking. Try tightening the four screws holding the top on. Don't overtighten. Last time this happened to me a quarter turn on the two screws nearest to the choke fixed it.

If that does not work, carefully remove the top, taking care to remember how the linkage from the choke and acceleration pump to the throttle etc is assembled. (no need to remove carby from vehicle, but don't drop any bits!)

Examine the mating surfaces that seal on the O-ring and make sure there is no foreign matter and that the O-ring is undamaged. Make sure the screws holding the emulsion block are tight not hitting the bottom part of the carby and stopping load on the O-ring. If nothing found, remove the float, needle valve, emulsion block and gasket. Check the top cover mating surface is flat. If necessary, lap it flat with wet and dry on a sheet of plate glass.

Carefully check all jets are tight, and that there is no foreign material under the needle valve. Reassemble, taking care to tighten the top cover screws evenly and gradually to give the best chance of sealing the O-ring. A smear of grease may help it seat more readily.

Thanks for the quick reply. Ill go over it all this afternoon. I am sure the neighbors will be happy to stop smelling my fuel clouds.
