Pretty straight forward with resin core solder and an electric soldering iron......clean tip with sand paper if it burns or gets dirty to aid retinning
Heat shrink tubing is good over individual wire joints or self amalgamating tape, look out for pointy bits after soldering as they can pierce whatever insulation you use and cause shorts...been there done that I inspect every solder joint I do and blunt pointy bits with plier squeeze or remove with small side cutters (pointy bits don't always occur depends how carefully you twist the wires together before soldering)
