    Yes,
Another "time wasting" video from Carlos.
Love "wasting" my time looking at these.
Thank you for time and effort.

Rebuilding my prop shafts at the moment. I cannot find the cap seal anywhere on line, or even in the diagrams. The one I am referring to is at 3:40 in my vid:

Can anyone tell me where i can source these. They where on both props and I can see their importance.

    cheers,
    Carlos

    G'day Carlos,
Was the cap located/locked on to the end of other other shaft (?) and what was it made of, rubber or felt?
I vaguely remember having these on one of my old cars, but cant remember which one, but I thought it was felt. The cap IIRC was screwed on to the other mating tube end, thus sliding with the tube keeping the dirt out.

Chops, yes the end cap screws onto the other half and keeps it locked in place (the two parts wont come apart). I think they where rubber, but being old and crumbly could be anything! Strange i cant find any reference to it, except one diagram that mention 'seal cap' but nothing about the seal.

If i got to make them i will, but looking to see whats out there. Has any Series owners found these in their props?

Early ones were felt, later ones changed to rubber. I've sourced the rubber ones from Four Wheel Drives and also any company that repairs propshafts will keep them. I Haven't checked Paddocks but you'd have thought they would have them.
The cap was also stocked by Four Wheel Drives.

There is a 'washer' made from a strip of steel that fits against the seal. Probably so that the cap as you screw it on doesn't twist the seal.

Just checked the parts book and it's not listed.
Four Wheel Drives had cap & seal for $4.95, their part number 'PROP G'. This is an old catalogue so price may have changed.......

Worth an email or phonecall because their website doesn't cover everything.

Another potential vid of interest, I put new oil in the steering relay and the process I went about to do it. Strange tho, there was not a drop of oil in it, so I thought ill end up putting oil in only for it to drain out, but at least its protected with some oil. However, after having it sitting upright for a number of days, it hasnt leaked a drop :S

    Anyway, here it is:

Been reading load about the damn bushes, and its very similar to the "what oil is best" type question! So in the end I have decided to stick with the OEM type rubber bushes, not poly. I think it may be better for longevity and also given the steel outer shell it will protect the chassis/springs.

Why you ask? Well so happens that some of the eyelets in the springs have been rubbed at by the bolt (I assume) as theres a gouge in it and therefore needs to be replaced. When I do the springs restoration vid you will see what I mean. I thought, if that was the chassis bush then it would of ruined it.
