I still cant belive how clean this thing is.

Not sure what I'm doing wrong.....pic's dont show as a thumbnail? Oh well......

So the plans for this vehicle are to keep it very much in it's current original condition. I'll rebuild the front end and replace all the wheel bearings, brakes etc. Some new springs and shocks too. The motor is a little smokey and the front crank seal is leaking pretty badly so I'll have to do something there too.
    Otherwise she looks pretty good.

I've really missed having an old series model. Feels like home again.
    Cheers

    Mick

That bulkhead looks like it was made yesterday!

Having just repaired one of these for Tommy K, I can say make sure that you drench every seem from the top down with some sort of preservative e.g. Ballistol; Lanox; Fishoilene, etc.

Every seam on Tommy's had rust either well-advanced, or starting in it.

    Nice find!

    Cheers Charlie

    Looks good Mick

Yeah put some Fishoilene in one of those hand pump spray bottles, thin it down with a bit of turps and spray it on every bit of rust you can see. you can also fog it into any holes in the chassis, up in the guards etc.
Good thing its non permanent so you can remove it when you decide what final paint you are going to give it.

Smells at bit at first but soone goes away.

    ~ $60 for 4 litres at Bunnings.
