You can get a rover ARB for ~$1000 if you shop around. A pair of MD axles are ~600 or ashcroft apparently ~$500.

The post to Australia I'm guessing would be no more than $100US, as I just got a quote for a Detroit Locker and a Detroit True-Trac delivery at $90US to country Western Australia.

So in Aussie dollars landed I'd say less than $1150. That's if the dollar retains it's current value when production comes around later in the year.

What would be good is if GBR are getting these made up in Australia, to have them delivered straight from the supplier instead of going to the US and back again. I'll keep you posted on what I end up paying as I'm definately getting one for Louisa's SWB.

I looked into getting an ARB, there are quite a few other considerations. Such as an Air compressor $150-250, the carrier is still 10 spline and 2 pinion?

Want any more details? Ask the moderator of this forum, she would have read the details when she deleted my post.

It looks as though the subscription I paid for here has not even given me the right to be contacted when a post "may" be breaching the rules so I have the chance to edit it before it is deleted.
As a matter of fact I did not delete your post.

I will accept your appology when you issue one!

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

Apologies TJWA, it seems to have been an issue with how the forum works.

I deleted your 2 duplicate redirection threads. Please don't do these. I left your main info thread running. However another mod merged on of your deleted duplication threads which overrode the one still running. Incisor has reinstated the main one.

In future everyone please remember to have a look at this thread

So it winds the axle into a splined hole in the cross shaft, is the other axle fixed into the cross shaft? if so, aint that a mini spool setup? Ie: its locking the shafts together rather than locking the gears.

No, the other axle is just engaged into its side gear like a normal diff.

A mini spool replaces the entire centre (all 4-6 gears) with a solid chunk of metal.

As you are listed as the moderator of this forum I made the assumption it was you. I apologise. I'm glad to know it was just a big mix up.

Correct, a mini spool is effectively a solid spool, fitted inside the existing carrier, locking both axles together, a full spool, replaces the carrier, with a spool of metal that locks the axles together...........or just MIG the crap out of the centre

As Ben says, these work as a standard diff, until locked
