    Hi, still trying to work out all about these things....anyone want to post a picture of a Zenith Carbie so I can see if that is what I have?
    It's an all original 1976 2.25 Pet. Does not have an oil air filter, jsut paper cartridge, not sure if that is original or not? (Does run rich so this could be part of the problem..)

    Paper cartridge is not original.

    Rich running probably due to (at best) mis-adjustment or (at worst) warping of the castings.
    The emery paper fix should sort the warp.
    Butterfly shaft wear could be an issue too. While idling try moving the shaft up and down or side to side, if idle varies then you have excessive wear.

    Do what I did and buy a new one, then fix your old one as a spare!
