Ok more bloody issues again.Well i put the handbrake shoes in today that all went fine.So started to the driveshafts in did rear first bolted to the diff end all was good but when i went to put the gearbox end on it was no go the shaft hits the loop in the Xmember & is to high for the box end..
Its not by much but its enough to stop it bolting up..
Now when i got the car the suspension was for some reason in all differant holes. Now i have the suspension in the bottom holes with the military shackles..
OK now for the front i did it the same way diff end first all good then when i went to bolt it onto the gearbox end no go this one lines up BUT it to short bout an inch..
Now the front suspension is set at the bottom holes with the military shackles as well.
Anyone got any ideas..I'm wondering if the military driveshafts are longer then the Civi ones & i have the Civi ones ..
Anyway NOT HAPPY JAN i just spent 2 days putting in new unis in both..

A couple of thoughts...
Is the rear shaft fully extended? It looks fully closed in the pic.
Something doesn't look right - the shafts look like they are on too much of an angle. What does the shaft angle look like on the green one?
I am no expert Jason, but is it because there is no weight on the springs?
Could you use some ratchet straps to compress (?) them a bit?
The green ones arent much of an angle but the chassis isnt military or the one ton..
Harry is military or one ton chassis the latter i recon cause it on the plate as a tray back.
the shaft does extend properly ..
When i got harry the suspension was shot & was miss matched in the holes. That why i asked if there was a differance between civi & military shafts..
But your right something dont look right..
Its confusing i tell ya..

Thats what i thought to but it has the engine back in & if the tray was on it would go down some in the back as its quiet heavy. But i think with the tray on & cab it will sit down in the rear..As it is now it sits quiet level which is good but like i said i think once everything is back on it will sag its bum & look terrible..

the shackles look to be too close to hanging vertically from what i can see so it might be worth slackening them off and allowing the springs to settle as you add weight (5 gallon cans full of water on the chassis to settle things)
just a little thought regarding the rear of the gearbox, are you sure you put the gearbox/chassis mounts on the correct sides ?? they do look very similar to each other but they are actually different sizes and therefore "handed" to align the gearbox correctly
just a couple of ideas to explore, i've not worked on the military/1 ton chassis
