    transfer case shaft removal

What can i use to drive the front bearing race out. in the manual it looks like a old bearing race they use as a spacer. Is there something else i can use or make? interested in what youve done in that situation? W.

I havent done that exact job but in general the old race is what I use.
Run the outside around on a grinder so it actually fits into the opening without sticking.

If need be weld it to some pipe or something, innovate.

If you are talking about the inner race of the output shaft thrusts, I ended up having to buy a good size bearing puller to get both thrusts off. In my case they were a very tight fit. Outers came out easily with a tap of the shaft after the circlips were removed.

Thanks Ashhhhh. I did sumilar to that, I took the old layshaft(LS) front bearing from the bellhousing and did the grind n cut and it worked ok. The LS bearing outer race was quite a bit smaller but did the trick.

I havent got to the inner races yet but hope i dont have the hassle that nobbydoldrums had. It should help to heat them with a heatgun if they are tough to move. I had to heat the rear layshaft bearing inner race as that was very tuff to get off. W
