Scripture seems to suggest that all Land Rovers were made in the FSM's image.
But maybe this Stage One is special. Wasn't it written that "to prove his love he gave his only Stage One for them..." ?

Okay, I own three stage 1. Have owned around 25 series land rovers from 49-82. My warning is that this forum needs to respect opinions and reason around them without attacking individuals. One previous post was extremely offensive and ill considered. Attacking individuals through online forums may well be a serious criminal offence in certain circumstances. It will never be okay to attack individuals in online forums.
Having grown up around series land rovers on farms and in logging in some of Victorias most rugged and steep country, I can say that stage 1 will not go where earlier series Land Rovers will. We all expected them to be better, so we upgraded and were disappointed.
Reasons include higher gearing, a lack of weight in the front of the vehicle in the v8 and issues surrounding the front prop shaft angles. They suffer from severe axle tramp in extreme steep country under extreme conditions and some of this results from insufficient development when placing a coil sprung drive train under a leaf spring vehicle without sufficient funding or research.
