    Unlimited funds S3 restore??

So what would you do (not that I have the $$) but there must be ways to make a Series 3 epic if money was no hurdle. 2012 diesel engine, disc beakes power steering etc etc

    Over to you....

Buy a 2012 Defender with a 2012 2.2 TDCI and a DPF? It's not much different to a series 3 apart from the missing bulkhead vent flaps!

Cheque book resto. My favourite kind.
Get any Series three, the better condition it is in the better for you, and send it to a professional motor restorers such as "The Healey Factory".

Mercedes operate that sort of service over in Germany at the "The Classic Centre".
Mercedes-Benz Classic Home - Classic - Classic Center

I wish they had something like that for Landrovers.

Take a look at the Land Rover World July 2012 (yes, they're that far ahead of themselves), page 72, for a different take on "money no object".

    Cheers,

It kind of defeats the purpose of owning a series if you put all that fancy crud on it??

I hear what your saying but I love the look and general feel of the series 3, just not the actual driveability. So in a perfect lotto winning world I would take a series 3 and bring the running gear and electrics to a more modern standard so it's a pleasure to look at and drive. How shallow of me I know .

So the question is more about how this could be achieved best (with a diesel of course). I always thought a 200tdi, 5speed r380, new electrics and discs, but maybe there is even better ideas if money was no barrier.

    Cheers
