Hi guys, I have surfed the net for days looking for ways to fit an Army tow Pintle to a Civilian Stage One Rover (or Series Three) but all the ideas I see don't fit the bill and much moding is used, so I went away had a think and come up with this;
As some of you would have worked out by that photo I have cut an old farm Pintle up and made up a plate to weld on it, then I have bolted the Army Pintle to that. it all works fine. I have been load testing it buy draging an old car with no wheels around the back paddocks! welds holding fine. here's another view;
yes it's a bit low but no lower than the old ball type one was, it's also only going to be towing an offroad 6x4 box trailer out bush woodcutting/camping and a little 14.5ft Stejcraft during the summer. so tell me why is all I have googled on this so over the top? when the answer was simple and cost me bugger all in the end. the best bit is it's only Two bolts to put the ball type back on and off if I need it.Oh and It has overcome the age old problem of it hitting the door mounted spare wheel.

cut the plough plate down the pinle fits perfectly between the 4 botls that hold the bracket onto the landy
