Sure you can fit them! Just don't let the cops see you with itI have no idea on the legalities of those doors, but I'm sure they'd be heaps of fun to have on the beach and out 4x4ing
My understanding of the rules are that as the vehicle was originally fitted with solid doors then you would need to retain some sort of solid door - i.e. not the mesh or frame type doors you have posted pics of.
They could however be cut down doors as per soft top 40 series etc...
If you have a SIII then you would need to retain the anti-burst type locks.
Yes my plan was to retain original door locks........ Plan B is cut down doors
Wouldn't it also depend upon whether the vehicle was subject to ADR?
It is a quandary I have with the gun buggy. The doors were removed by RAEME as part of the conversion and in many cases they get retrofitted with a single webbing strap across the door opening. I would far prefer to have a frame type low cut safety door that could be used for travelling but easily removed for display.![]()
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
I am only familiar with QLD (and WA) rules. The general rule that is applied is that no modifications can reduce the safety of the vehicle from the condition originally registered. So in QLD you could possibly argue that the GBs were delivered without doors and driven that way on roads...?
