I don't want to sound like a naysayer or dissing anyone or what they have done. BUT be cautious who/what type of ebay dizzy you get. I got one that was cheap = 3 months of wasted time when I couldn't drive my car waiting for parts and replacement dizzies etc. long story short the dizzy was garbage and didn't work, and ended up getting an upgraded replacement unit.
as they say "you only get what you pay for" :D
I should really get my carbi rebuilt.... :(
Got the clutch unit late yesterday afternoon so I put it in and refitted the engine to the chassis
I also fitted this bearing to the PTO shaft as the old one was well and truly shot
I have trial fitted the winch but did not like how it sat so I have dismantled it (it needed a good clean-up and fresh oil) and will now start to fit the carriage a little neater. I am thinking of using the dumb iron mounts as the mounts and base for my nudge bar. I am still working out how to finish the rear cross member hitch and winch mount.
I re-installed the PTO shaft this morning and am happy with how it sits although it is close to the cross member.
After doing this I realised I would not be able to fit the extractors I wanted as there would not be enough room to fit the collectors past the PTO.
If anyone has an alternative please let me know :confused: .
Anyway I started to clean up the old exhaust manifold and managed to break both of the remaining studs off so I drilled them and used an easyout to remove the shell. This manifold has seen better days and looks to have had the studs replaced with some cold chisel work before :mad:.
I am going to have to buy another finishing tap as my tap will not go into the hole far enough and the manifold is very soft. I have gone up a stud size because there was no thread left in two holes :( .

I had the same issue but opted to buy a new manifold.
At $150 plus post I thought it was good value for money vs the PITA of drilling, retapping etc. It fitted 1st time with no issues.

I have been pretty slack lately and apart from finishing the winch mount and fitting a new 65amp alternator (old one was only 35amp and tested poorly) I have accomplished little, so I decided to try to get some metal rubbed back for paint while the sun shone.
Trouble was the fog did not lift till mid day and the air was very wet.
I got a couple of coats of paint stripper on to the radiator support panel and started to rub it back but now have to decide how to repair the rust holes.
I am thinking of cutting the section out of the S 2a front I have as it has been butchered to fit a holden Radiator.
I have a question regarding fuel tanks
as you can see the Bunyip only has a small tank on the RH side. I have an old large tank with a ding in it also RH side. My question is can they be fitted both right and left or are the outlets to far over?
I guess I could make a tank and use the hardware from the large one. or I could fit something like the last picture between the rails.
I also need to find a double row balancer or someone that can fit a second pulley to a standard balancer. Any thoughts? :D
