I'm guessing those parts must be pretty heavy with having to have a little crane/hoist there
I do like the attention to detail, it'll be like brand new straight off the showroom floor when your done with her. Top job boys.

Well, it's been a while, but things are starting to move again. Recently bought a front room full of new parts for it. We now have ready to be fitted a disk brake conversion - from Cookey. This includes everything even a new twin diaphragm booster and master cylinder set up on a pedal assembly ready to go, a set of shiny extractors for the 2.6 - again, from Cookey - I've driven Cookeys Series 3 with these fitted and it is an amazing thing to drive - unlike anything other series I've driven - it is quite special. So smooooth and heaps of torque. Also just landed today - picked up while of the way back from Melrose - is a high speed transfer case and gears - from Ashcrofts, although these were purchased second hand, they have never been used, so as new.. For those that don't know about this item, it gives a higher ratio high range - about 27% I think, while maintaining standard low range ratios. No need for taller diffs now and the 2.6 will have the grunt to pull this combo without issue, even on the 750/16's which will arrive shortly. The rims are heading off the the sand blasters next week, then a shiny coat of paint - either cream or black, not sure which way Cam wants to go with this yet. (Hoping cream...
)
So, some big ticket items now sorted, I better pull my finger out and start fitting them to the vehicle.![]()

O gee wheel colour is sooo hard! I'm at the same point as well.... white, cream, black, body colour..... it's all tooo hard
So looks like classic cream for the wheels and rooftop.
But he seems to have forgotten the conversation we had about the Keswick green body and wants a burgundy colour, which shouldn't look half bad.
All gal will be left gal, so I think a pretty good combination.
Now to get the wheels off to the sand blasters this week.
Anyone know what colour this Deefer is? This is about what he's looking for.

Hello Bacicat,
There is a set of colour chips for Land Rover paint colours from 1997. Plus some colours from 2006 I am not sure if it covers the colour you are after?
1997 Land Rover Paint Charts and Color Codes
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/chipdisp...model=Defender
For the 1997 link, scroll down a fair way before the colours appear. Not being a Defender aficionado myself - would you have any idea what year Defender you have pictured? It might help trying to track down the colour.
Here is another link in which you can choose between 1990 to 2014 Land Rover colours.
http://paintref.com/cgi-bin/colorcod...r=2009&rows=50
Kind Regards
Lionel
Think I found the colour. Montpellier Red, code 536, CUY. They used this colour on the 95 Defenders, so that's my guess on the year of the Deefer pictured.
I'll get my mate to run up a sample pot and see if it is right.![]()

Send a PM. To Cookey - that's his username in this forum. He's not a regular visiter here so you may need to wait for a reply. Failing that, send me your phone number and I'll pass it onto him.
He's a great bloke to shoot the breeze with about these engines. What he doesn't know about them isn't worth knowing.
These extractors are for the 6 cylinder engine, not the 4 by the way.
