Original Volt Reg. Where did you get your replacement. Link Please.
Hi Mick, 15 is top end. Think I can get 12/13 depending on foot. 70 Klms, gentle throttle.
Nav Man show speed at 89 Klms, on the flat, no tail wind, just over half throttle and nice and quiet, without overdrive fitted.
    Probably 20 then
    Thanks for the Replies.

Lost brakes coming from town yesterday.
whistling from the booster, and rough idle when peddle is pushed. Still had some brakes.
So am thinking a seal has gone, but the booster is a sealed unit, so guess it cant be replaced.
Where is the best place to get a new booster.
Also slight combustion gas is present in the Radiator. Need to re torque head gasket, and see if it fixes the problem.
Also rear drive shaft pinion seal has started weeping. Its the original one, and was good for 2,500 klms.
I have checker axle breather, which is clear. I have a new one to put in. A big Job ????
    Thanks for replies.

Pinion seal is not a big job, but be aware that the sealing surface on the input flange may be grooved, so the flange may need replacing or speedisleeving. Can't help with where to find a booster, but if you have a local brake specialist, try there.

Hydroboost in Victoria can rebuild them. I know a few people as well as myself that have used them with great success.
IMO a rebuilt original will be better than a reproduced aftermarket one

    Thanks for the replies.
How do you tell an original one from the Aftermarket ones ????
Mine was quite rusty inside, but managed to clean it up a bit.
Went through LrDirect, Booster unit, 4 rocker cover gaskets, and postage, comes in cheaper than AU booster units, not including postage.
Will Be Here before the end of the week, from UK. Very happy with previous service.
If old one is original, might get it rebuilt as a spare.
Thanks John, will dig out manuals and have a look. Take some pics and post.
Is it basically, Drop rear, rear drive shaft, undo large nut, pull out Input shaft, pry out old seal. press in new one and reassemble ????
    Or more involved.
    Thanks again.

    Good Evening.
Modified my bike carrier to suit Gilbert, today.
    Very Happy.
Might add a couple of extra straps from the chain link eye to the lift handles. See how it goes.

If it is a Rover axle (swb), yes, if a salisbury axle, see the manual. In both cases you needto make sure the sealing surface oon the output flange is good, replace or sleeve if necessary or expect the seal to be short lived.
