How will you go with the welding on the intermediate shaft?

    I thought that was a No-No.

The engineer said it has to be a realy good weld & have the two test done before he would pass it .Mine passed both tests dear but well worth it. the Xray is to check that the weld has penatrated & there are no cracks or gaps in it .not sure about the hardness test but i had it done & it passed..my engineers report is 5 or 6 pages long..

Nice work! A very good set up that The 60 box is very strong and reliable.
I converted a 45 series cruiser in a very similar way a wile back and has been a gem ever since.

Looks like this is something I'll definitely be doing when I end up getting round to rebuilding my landy.

I can imagine. Was out on a very tough 4WD track yesterday in a mates old Toyota troopy. Felt just like driving my Series III (stiff leafs, size, crunching gears etc) except for one difference. Power steering. It was just sooooo much easier.

Yeah it does make a differance we can park in a crowded carpark one handed & reverse parking is so easy..Its actualy lighter than fatty's crapota 4runner you can turn mine with your little finger with ease..I want to get another one to do up again later maybe a SWB would be nice never did one of them & i will be putting the power steering on it aswell...
