    Hi guys,
It finally made it! After 10 months of waiting for one of my customers the canvas roof and hood has flown in the country!
Car looks great, runs smoother, all the girls look at you and with the sun's out I don't regret the choice!!

The whole procedure to install the frame was pretty quick apart for the rain channels on top of the doors... I believe there is some problem with how the hoods were made initially though.. Practically the door doesn't close properly and there is enough space to fit a tim-tam between the frame and the door itself (top). You can see in the picture...

My question.... should I just try to re-fit the hood or should I strip the existing door seal and replace it with a defender's one? I have heard it can be done..

    Can someone enlighten me?

    Thank you

    Andrea

    Hi,
Has anyone have the hoop set measurements for a SWB series 3 soft top ????
I Could make some, If I know what they are.
Can borrow some SWB defender ones to copy.
    Are they the same ???
    Thanks for the replies.

You can adjust the position of both the horizontal and vertical closers. Slacken off the canvas and then loosen the bolts that join the closers to each other and to the windscreen and hoop brackets. The closers then slide to adjust the gaps.
Re tighten when you have adjusted the gaps and then re tighten the canvas

You can use Defender door seals but you will have to cut the lip off where they attach to the body and closers because the seal is a different type
    Quite a big job

    The defender ones are different
The main problem with making the hoop set is not the hoops themselves that are just bent gal tube
You will need the windscreen rail and the four door closer pieces that are reasonably complicated to make
You best bet is to buy a complete 2nd hand hoop set (the Ho Hars?) and then get a new canvas from the UK
I had endless problems with Exmoor and eventually bought one from another company. PM me if you want details

Phil, I have got hold of the windscreen rail, but missing a couple of hooks,
Also the door tops, just no side pieces.
A per the canvas, lady across the road from me has made horse rug for over 40 years, so was going to have a chat with her.
So just need some Hoop and connection rail sizes.

There was a thread here last year about canvas tops and from memory there is a guy in southern Victoria that does a good job at a competitive price.
Others on here will have a better recall of it and know where/how to find the thread..

    Cheers, Mick.
