I do it with the handbrake lever in situ. The clutch and brake pedals need to be depressed so you can get the floor plate past them though. Lift up from the front of the plate.

Do I have to first remove the handbrake before I can remove the floor pan or is there some kind of Yoga position I can adopt where I can do it with the brake in situ? I'm thinking the former , but just in case.

Yep move the handbrake position will help - i spent about 15 minutes the other day trying to get it out only to find the handbrake just needed to be moved![]()
