I Dark,
Try your local engine rebuilders, they may have some.
Or these guys, size listed.
Land Rover Parts - WELSH PLUGS - 2.25 PETROL
None brass one have lasted for 50 odd years.

I have to replace at least one of the three Core Plugs on the side of the Engine - so I may as well do all 3 at the same time. I think the part number is 525428 but am struggling to find them in brass. If anyone can point me in the right direction , I'd appreciate it.
cheers,
D

Thanks whitehillbilly - I've spoken to Sean - he reckons no to Brass as the mild steel ones will take the punishment rather than something else. I thought Brass = good as they wouldn't rot - but he reckons Brass = bad as rather have a plug rot than something else more important. I can see both points. I suppose if I have the original plugs - they have lasted over 40 years - that'll do me. Plus I'll keep an eye on the coolant/ corrosion inhibitor rather than just leave it sitting around for years with tap water in it - which is what I reckon I've inherited.
cheers,

I recall they came from one of the UK suppliers. Ordered monday night by fax and in Orange, NSW on friday. Maybe craddocks or similar that advertise in LRO international. bought all my overhaul bits this way for a 2.25 diesel.
Forgot to also say ensure you replace all of them as invariable the one you don't replace will fail. Had a couple of originals that had a spot that was just about to break out. If you have the block chemically cleaned take them all out and replace the set.
Brass and aluminium don't mix electrically so one will become sacrificial to the other. Usually at the most inopportune time.
Dunno when you ordered your bits, and it matches my experience from over a year ago, for the last year however, delivery from the UK, Asia and the USA has taken three weeks at least, and that's from various suppliers, all touting the 'inside 7 days' line. I can only speculate that something's gone skewiff somewhere and personally, I'm blaming the Australian end for a fair bit of it.
I could sell you 3 brass ones if you want them, cheers Dennis
My local car parts shop stocks brass plugs in many sizes. Let me know if you want some.

Hello from Brisbane.
Nothing to do with core plugs.
Good to catch up when I came by Molesworth the other day - enjoyed the yarn and chance to look at your trucks.
However, really wanted to note your photo of the hound in the most recent copy of Classic Land Rover magazine. Nice shot.
Cheers,
