    Bloody 'ek, that was fast!!!

Barney is sitting exactly where I left him the day I brought him home...
I have a feeling you'll be finished and back on the road before I even gear up.

So on to day 2. Started out by removing the steering box, the drop arm came off way too easy, get the feeling I'm going to pay for that later:

Firewall ready to lift off the chassis:

    And lifting:

The ever growing pile of Land Rover:

Engine and gearbox ready to lift:

Dog came over to do her inspection of the latest parts removed :

    And, the bare rolling chassis:

I get the feeling this may be the payback for the drop arm that was way too easy:

Shock bolts look way to good for their age.... no idea what the green coating is?

    And now a flying? chassis:

And the axles liberated from the chassis:

Next step will be cleaning, sand blasting, cleaning, removing suspension bushes, and a bit of cleaning.

    Cheers,

Try some meditation before reaching for the hammer.

Wow you are flying! Having a nice work space and a FL would be so handy! Some of us have to make do with a rubbish SCA engine crane for all those times you just grab the FL

The LR looks great! My last project LR was worse than that and it was bought "without rust" Keep up the good fight!

Thanks Debruiser, yes it's a luxury having the workshop and forklift etc, I'd hate to attempt a lot of this by myself with just an engine crane!

Dropped the flexy brake and clutch lines off at the local hose people yesterday, told them they were no hurry, so of course they were done that day! (Next time I actually need something in a hurry it'll take 5 days no doubt :/ ).

    Anyway, old vs new

    Cheers,
