Most of the vehicle, at least as complete assemblies! As far as I can think, all body parts except those to do with the dash are interchangeable, although you may need to make some minor modifications. Gearboxes are interchangeable, but you have to change clutch and clutch system as well. Doors, door tops, locks, hinges etc fully interchangeable, Windscreen frames are not, but glass is. Series 3 speedo and instrument cluster can be fitted to S2a after suffix C but you need Series 3 cable.

Basically, there are more changes during S2a production or S3 production than there are between S2a and S3. For example - wheel studs changed 7/16" to 16mm late S2a, 'rationalised hubs and stub axles, late S3, salisbury axle, late S2a, Six cylinder brakes were fitted to all late S3 109s, and so on.

    4 cylinder I'm assuming?

You have 2 options - if the distributor shaft and general condition of it are ok, you can just replace the points with an electronic kit, but you can also buy a whole new dizzy if you want.

You can buy dizzy, coil and leads as a matching set - Land Rover 45D High Energy distributor, DLB198 Ignition Coil & 8mm HT leads Land Rover 45D High Energy Replacement distributor and DLB198 Ignition Coil to Match [D5 & CE5 & L2black] - PS92.99 : Electronic Ignition, Home of the Powerspark electronic ignition and electronic distributor

This will solve your ignition woes entirely. 92 quid plus delivery - pretty good value IMO.

I've got their 6 cylinder version but the engine hasn't been rebuilt yet, so not tested it, but they were easy to deal with and it arrived around a week after order IIRC. It wasn't a converted points dizzy either, it's a specific casting designed for its electronics. Nice bit of kit.
