Can I swap Selectro F W Hubs from a SIIA to a SIII?

The Selectro FW hubs are in good working order (from a LWB SIIA).
    Is it possible?
Is it a straight bolt-on job, to fit them to my SIII LWB?

    Thanks

Depends on what year model and wheelbase. S3 lwb had fine splines and the 11a and swb had course.....I think... It may be possible though, to pull the hubs to bits and just swap the internal bit that fits over the spline as I have just done. If you've got something to swap that is.

Hmmm. I guess I'll have to wait until I get them both disassembled.

The SIII is a 1976 model.

    Thanks.

Yep, if they are different, pull them both apart. just undo the circlip that holds the spline bit, and if they are serviceable, just swap them over and reassemble. Job done.

All S2a except a few very late lwbs have ten spline drive flanges (and hence free wheel hubs). All lwb Series 3 have 24 spline drive flanges.

Obviously, they almost certainly won't swap - BUT - the axles are completely interchangeable, and there is a reasonable chance that either of the Landrovers do not have the original front axle (or components) and they may actually swap.

Only way to be sure is to check how many splines there are on both.
