I was wondering if the U/J's in the front diff are the same as the U/J's on the propshafts?

LR011s correct The spicer joints on the front halfshafts shouldn't have the greaseway, grease nipple or seals on the caps.
The problem is that it is getting hard to source the correct spicer joints so many are being fitted with the geaseway. This is introducing a weakness into the axles that shouldn't be there.
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
But in most cases the weakest point is the shaft itself.
I seriously doubt whether the joints with greaseways are measurably weaker, although it would be interesting to measure. I have never seen one of these joints (in axle or prop shaft) actually break without the needle rollers failing, or the loss of a circlip, allowing them to flog - replacement is usually needed because of wear or damage to the needles, in the case of the ones on the axles, almost always due to lack of lubrication or lubrication with water or mud.

All I can go on is what I discussed with Mal Story (Maxidrive) and the weakness of the SIIB spicers and yokes.
Given that the ENV axles are significantly stronger than previous models the weak spot moved from the splined end to the spicer joint and the spicer yoke itself.

Yes, you start talking the ENV axle, and it is a whole different ball game!
But I'd still be interested to know whether the cross with greaseways is measurably weaker - the area round the grease nipple is enlarged, and the material removed for the grease ways themselves, being in the centre of the pins, contributes virtually nothing to strength.
