    I think that is a pretty accurate assessment.

    You have to remember that is a business pays $X for something, and don't sell it for some time, they have to sell it for the original cost plus interest on that cost, plus interest on the interest, plus the cost of storage, plus the interest on the storage cost, before they even start to break even. And the interest rate is critical - bear in mind Australia has for thirty or more years had a higher interest rate than most other developed countries.

    Can buy locally for $1900
    Can buy direct from the UK to my door for $1411.

    No brainer really.

    The quality of the parts in Australia are a bit rough and most of the time I can buy genuine parts cheaper than the aftermarket parts from the local suppliers.
