Never seen anything quite like it - it looks like some sort of air cleaner on a breather. Trace the hose to see where it goes - possibly a breather on a hydraulic reservoir for a hydraulic winch, or alternatively a breather on a remote vacuum servo or vacuum trailer brake setup.

Looks like a vacuum servo, I agree - like a vacuum spark advance servo. Could it be after-market cruise-control? Below it the thing that it's attached to would be where whatever it actuates would be located, Garry. What is that item?
Hi Garry,
I have no idea what that is. There is nothing like that on mine. I was hoping someone else would know.
Thought you all might like to see a couple of photos of the Game doing what it was made for -

Well, it has been far too long since I have done work on the GAME this last couple of weeks I put the carby back together with a rebuild kit only to find that some time in the last 12 months I have lost a couple of small parts and now have to find them amongst two sheds and a multitude of parts. There is some bits on the vacuum pump that I cannot find.
But am hoping someone out there has an old zenith carby lying around. This is mine[IMG][/IMG]
Have put a new distributor in and set all the tappets which were a bit all over the place clearance wise and put a small amount of oil in the bores. Was surprised even without having it running for over 12months that the compression on turning it over felt really good even before I put oil in the bores.
Well remember this ??

SO 41/2 years later it now look like this.[IMG]

After I purchased the GAME I went through a process of assessing what it needed to return it back to some assemblence of it previous self. To be honest I only realised a third of what was required and that was dauting enough so I did nothing to it for a couple of years.
I thought the firewall was bad well I was wrong it was exceptionally bad, the fibre glass footwells had preserved their shape but the cancer had chewed away some major bits. The top of the fire wall had an addition third vent
[IMG][/IMG]

and as for them door pillars it was just to late to save them either. So a new firewall was the only move forward. Even though I had a good Fire wall there it only took 4 years to get it prepared to fit it onto a chassis. Here it is paint ready to go back on the new chassis.[IMG][/IMG]
Yes and the chassis, the best part of that was the newish rear galvanised cross member every thing forward of that got more and more depressive to deal with. A previous owner had put a lot of effort into fibre glassing the vehicles rusted bits. In all fairness the fibre glass proberly saved it from the scrappers as it did not look too bad and the fibre glass work that was done was of good quality. It just over time moisture had gotten in behind it and once there had begun to excellarate the oxidation process.
