Its either 110 or disco if they use the rear disc then there both the same
Adam
What is the main reason the caliper has to be positioned towards the front? Is it the only location that doesn't interfere with hub and caliper?
I also agree that having the disc mounted between wheel and front of hub is the best if possible. Finding a disc that could fit may be very difficult.
:confused: Hey Adam do you mean the ones LRO has shown are from a 110 or disco ??
They look as though they just go over the origanal series hub. & the bracket could be machined from one peice of steel,. If its welded it will need to be xrayed the same as what i did with the steer shaft i made for the power steering . . & thats not cheap it cost us $300 to get the shaft done . . .
I have a 2nd hand Defender ventilated front disk, that I was intending to play around with.
From the initial examination, I find it slips over a late SIIa hub but only till it comes up against the webs. My plan this weekend is to have a closer examination with a variety of hubs and on the swivel itself to see if it is worthwhile progressing further.
If at all possible I would like ventilated disks up front at least and to be able to use standard parts that don't need to be modified each time I need to replace rotors.
BTW I think this thread has been great, so thanks everyone for the effort put in! :clap2: :BigThumb:
G'day All, I have been following this thread also, SO hurry up and get it finalised LOL:p, about 25 years ago, I had a set of discs on my S2A 109 diesel, I fitted the engine with a alternator off a Diahatsu to provide vacuum (Just can't recall how I had it plumbed up oil wise:(), the discs were commercially made for use on Land Rovers in underground mines, it (the 109) had really good stopping ability, anyway sits back on the sideline waits for more info LOL cheers Dennis:angel:
