We have a match!

Through measurements and using the "Disc Brakes Australia" website I have found the disc for my set to be listed as DBA153 or DBA154 (same dimensions) which retails in Australia at $70.66

The previous owner has gotten back to me and believes the discs were from a Toyota Hilux around 1975.

Checking the details for a DBA154 on the DBA website reveals the disc was used as a front disc brake for 4wd Toyota Hilux's up to 1989. It was also used as a front disc for RJ70 and LJ70 Landcruisers. The DBA154 is the same as the DBA153 besides having bigger stud holes which should make no difference to our application.

DBA153:
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > RN36 (10.5mm Stud Holes) (This model was still in production up to 1978)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > RN46 (10.5mm Stud Holes) (This model was still in production up to 1979)

DBA154:
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > LN36 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > LN46 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > LN60 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > LN65 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > RN36 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > RN45 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > RN46 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > YN60 (15mm Stud Holes)
TOYOTA > HI-LUX 4WD > YN62 (15mm Stud Holes)

I intend on buying two to confirm they are definately a match and to enable me to make a second set as I already have calipers.

We have a 86 model 4runner & its about to **** itself again so i could probably use them.....
I wonder if i could get an adapter to fit the crapoyta 5 speed to my 202 & the landy transfercase ?
I wonder what else i could borrow from fatty's car . . . .:angel:
Slotted discs would be good if you cant get vented aren't they the next best . . . . .

Well i still haven't heard back from the engineer & Karen said every time she goes past as he is only round the corner from us , there is a sign out saying closed...Has been for awhile apparently .. . . .. .. ... .. .. . ..:twisted:

Great news, good work. So all parts are acounted for now? I guess the engineer's approval is the last hurdle? I am excited about the potential of discs without a prohibitve price tag, oh and the feeling of doing the mod myself.

Is there any chance of getting a copy of the CAD file for the bracket? I would like to dummy/make one up and start the trial for mounting the caliper.

I would still like to know what LROs are off calipers & discs .

Maybe we could combine the 2 types ?

It would be good to keep them all landy , but if the toyota discs are cheaper & easier to go with then i go with them . . . . .

I don't know if you saw earlier how much Agro said he can laser cut them for, but at that price I think it's not worth the effort of giving it a go yourself. :D

The biggest hurdle now besides engineering approval, will be machining the hole in the disc out bigger or the rear of the hub down smaller to fit them together with threaded bolts. I'm guessing even a slight misalignment could cause vibration and mechanical stress. I'm going to pull apart one of mine on Tuesday to see exactly how it's been done.

I can't argue about the laser cut ones, was just interested in making some up out of ply/plastic/alloy maybe just to see how it works out.

I would love 2x sets of the brackets when they are available.
