    The two way tap probably has a faulty seal allowing it to suck air. It is generally considered that the fuel filter should be after the pump, but it will probably be OK that way.

    I would like to put the filter after the fuel pump but I don't have the replacement fuel lines to suit. The holden red engines have a mechanical pump and from that there is a metal fuel line that runs to the carby. I don't have a replacement line for the copper one so I'll have to wait for now.
