Yeah i was just thinking it might be easier to put a photo of mine up.... give me an hour or so.

Ok well my dash/panel lights ive connected to the headlight switch, come on and stay on parkers through to headlight and high beam.

Not going to reinstall/connect the heater unit. Dont know if it works, not worth it in my eyes.

Re hazards: I was presuming that these would be required for a roadworthy and therefore current registration???

    Pics to come.

    Thanks for your help, Josh

Don't know about the hazards, but as far as I know, the heater has to be in working order to get registered. Something about having the ability to demistify the front windows. I could be wrong, but that's what I heard.

If that panel light toggle switch is still doing nothing, it could be handy to use it in the future for spotties or what not

The blanked out push button is for the window washer if you have one its shown in agrojnr,s 1st pic, is yours civy or mil s111 as the mil ones only have single speed wipers so switch maybe working correctly. Not sure about QL but you dont need hazards for rego in NSW unless they were fitted as original equipment

In the 2nd pic you can see the back of my wiper switch, mine is a 2stage switch and also the window washer.

I had a look today and hazards were an op extra which required an extra loom.

To pass pits here in wa you need to have 2 stage wipers and window washers plus a heater to de-mist the windscreen

I expect that depends on the date of manufacture - most Series 3 in Australia were supplied with single speed wipers, and I would be very surprised if they were required to be retrofitted.

On the other hand, I think washers will be required to be retrofitted, and possibly the heater as well, although I think this was fitted to all S3s in Australia except perhaps the very earliest, as it was a requirement by then.

(My 1970 2a had to be retrofitted with washers for rego in Victoria in 1992, but a heater was not required, nor was it required for rego in NSW in 1994. In 1966 I had to fit a LH wiper to my 2a to transfer the rego from NT to NSW.)

I spoke to the engineer last week and the 2 speed wipers must be installed and I never told him what year the landy was (I was asking about the heater mostly)

I have the info downloaded off the dpi web site and it states 2 speed wipers???

Maybe its only for cars with 5 seats or more
