    Soft top

Could anyone please measure up the strip that goes along the top of the windscreen frame, I am after the profile so I can fold one up as I can't seem to find one over here in NZ. I have everything else apart from the Hood itself. Also, my vehicle has retractable seatbelts, which I will lose when I take off the truck-cab, what arrangement do you have have for seatbelt mounts, I seem to remember some sort of mount that went through the bulkhead?

    Thanks,

    Jack

    Here we go..............

    Strip is 1360mm long

Has a front height of 75mm, which starts to bend at about 45mm

    Drops 40mm back to windscreen.

Then runs 30mm to the back edge, and has a slight lip folded up.

The apex has a gap of about 25mm over the top edge of the windscreen.

Staples are fitted L & R, and also one in the centre.

Other fastening points from driver side to centre (same for passenger side, naturally)

Hope this is what you were after.

    Thanks

Mate, you are a legend! Thank you for all the trouble that you have taken, very nice, clear pictures. Its a little more involved than I 1st thought, but making one shouldn't be too much drama.

    Thanks again.

Can anyone give some information on the seat belt mounts? I'm interested too incase I ever decide to get a soft top or take a roof off.

    There are several options.
    • The civilian SIII models in Oz had a captive nut in the gal capping of the transom behind the front seats. This can be used for the third point although it is below your shoulder. (Unfortunately the Au military contract didn't have the transome point and only used lap belts.
    • There is also a seat belt frame used in the UK, often with their lightweights, that places a horizontal frame above the transom in an appropriate location for the seatbelt. (see image below)
    • The third option is to manufacture a roll-over-protection bar with integral seat belt mounts. This will also protect your upper body if you do roll over, although you haven't addressed the issue of whiplash neck protection.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Thanks guys

You go for it Hodgo, I don't think that it would arrive over here in the same condition that it left. I have access to a folder etc so I'll have a go at making one, can't be that hard.

Jack and once again thanks for the trouble you guys have been to.
