I have stripped and cleaned it and sourced all new bearings and seals. The gears are fine.
When I reassemble what end float should there be on the shafts? I have new shims to get it right.
Also do I need to grease the bearings or just coat everything with EP90 as I put it back together?
Thanks
The only information I have on shims is to use the same ones that were taken out!
Do not use grease in the overdrive, but oil everything with EP90 as you assemble it. This ensures initial lubrication as well as helping assembly.
The splines engaging the output dog on the gearbox should be greased with plenty of MoS2 grease as these do not get adequate lubrication and will ultimately wear and fail.
