Question TD5 Double Cab Central Locking Question

    Guys,
One of my rear doors has stopped locking / unlocking with the keyfob.

The mechanism feels fine when I push the lock button down and pull it up again.

When I run the central locking tests in the 10AS module (Faultmate MSV2) I can hear the servo in the door working and it sounds like the sound the other 3 doors make under the same test.

Any ideas before I start to strip the door down?

    Thx
    Jon
    Regards,
    Jon

    Good question! I dont know.

I'll have a try when I get home tonight and let you know.

If it does, does that narrow down the possible cause?

    Thx

    Hi there,
Just been outside to test. sat inside, locked / unlocked the front door, rear door did not lock/unlock.

I can also confirm the rear door does not lock/open when i turn the key in the front door.

    Sadly answer therefore is No.

    Jon

I have the same problem on my Defender , Rear driver side door.
Took the trim off & everything worked fine, so I suspect the mechanisim fouls with the trim, bent / adjusted/ lubed with graphite. Put trim back on & same problem. Use Graphite , not WD40 as WD40 etc attracts dust & worsens the problem.

There are dints around the door handle where it looks like the prev owner has been thumping it to get it to work.

Be sure & get yourself a set of spare door trim studs ($6.00 ebay) you will need them.
