D4 long wait time for ARB winch bar

I decided back in early March to get an ARB winch bar on our D4. Two months on and still waiting from the call from them to let me know when the next manufacture of D4 bars will be.. I'm dealing direct with their factory office.

I did a factory tour at the time and they were flat out making OEM Hilux bars 24x7.

Is anyone else on the waitlist with ARB to get a bar?

You might get mine now. I ordered one beginning of March and finally got told the build date was 23rd May. Then another month to get colour match. This wasn't going to work out for me re next planned trip so 2 weeks ago I went to OL. It arrives tomorrow, so I cancelled the ARB order and got my money back.

The thing to consider though (and i feel like i have taken a step back by doing this) is that OL can't powder coat colour match. They can colour coat, but only ARB do the fixed powder coat colour. So, I go with a standard powder coated black bar from OL. If you choose colour coat from OL you'll find it stone chips and won't look good in a very short period of time.

Where's the OL bar made? ARB also only paint over a black powdercoat to match the vehicle colour. You can't colour match powdercoatings to paint.

They are made in Perth, by Outback Accessories, well they used to be, whether they still are I'm not sure, ring them and ask.

Now ARB have come to the party and looks like they're doing a batch later in the month... Getting fitted late June.

Yes, frustrated as well.

Ordered my ARB D4 deluxe bar and Safari snorkel back in Feb. Was initially told about 8 weeks as they build the bars to order once they receive "4 or 5"

Just been told they are building D4 bar's next week and that they will arrive towards the end of May. As such, I have booked mine in for fitting on the 12th of June.

At least we still have a couple of months before the big trip

ARB bars are not powder coated when colour coded they are painted,so colour codeing an OL bar will give the same finnish. OL bars are made in Thailand same as most of ARB's bars.
