Nice.
Got all the goodies too.
Sturdy plate to mount a winch, Free wheeling hubs, and "real" mirrors.
Can't go wrong there mate.
I picked myself up a new project, Thinking this one looks like a lot of fun, it has a holden 186 in it but I think the motor is seized as there is a lot of milky residue on the dip stick, but that's no problem as I have running 138 grey motor from an EJ holden which I think should go straight in. I'm not sure how far I'm going to go with this old boy, engine swap is a must, also needs some work done to the interia and the wooden tray also needs replacing, The body is quite good so will leave that alone for now, looks as if someone has replaced the floor sections with aluminium sheet but it's been screwed down so should be easy enough to see what going on under it, the chassis looks really good which I'm glad of , now just need to make some room for it so I can get to work.

Think your right there Jeff, it's got twin wiper motors but I can't find a chassis number, did find this number on a plate in the centre of the dash " car no. 277600284" anyone know what this refers to ? the previous owner told me it was a series 2 so that's all I had to go on until I get it home, bonus it's only a 2 minute trip as it's just up the road.
Incisor I think It looks like a Bruce not sure why, maybe in the back of my mind I was think of that monty python skit lol.
Hi Chris, I found my Chassis number on the left hand side engine mount, but mine is a 1951, I thing on the later ones like yours it might be on the rear spring hanger. You might be better off re-posting the photos and questions in the Series 1 section, there lots of people on there that know lots more about Series 1s than me. There is also a thing called CALVIN, where you put the number in and it tells you the vehicle details, but I can't find the link.
Looks like a nice truck though, almost had one of them myself till the bloke I was buying it off changed his mind and decieded to keep it. It's lots of fun doing them up though.
Cheers Jeff

Found the CALVIN LINK put in the number below which was on a plate in the dash centre and this is what it tells me, just not sure if it's correct no. as I can't find a number on the chassis to confirm this
CalVIN, the Land Rover VIN CALculator
277600284
277 Model: Land Rover, Series IIA
Body type: Basic
Wheel base: 109in
Engine: diesel
Model years: 1962-1971
Destination: Export, right-hand drive (RHD)
60028 Serial number
4 Design: Significantly modified, no further details known
You have entered one or more VIN codes not fully known to me. When you did not make a typing error, would you please be so kind as to provide me with details, so that I can enlarge the information set of CalVIN?
Hi Chris,
I don't think that the plate inside is the original, it's not a 2A. Have a look at the left side rear spring hanger, you may need to rub it back with some sand paper, or rub some chalk on it. My S1 had a different number on the firewall to the chassis.
Cheers Jeff
