    LED Light Bars?

    ]Hey all,

Looking at getting a light bar for my TD5. In particular i am looking at getting it from Lifetime LED in America, has anybody heard or know anything about them.

Looking at this one (Spot) http://www.lifetimeledlights.com/225...REE-_p_23.html

    and

    this one (Combo) http://www.lifetimeledlights.com/50-...bar-_p_17.html

    My question are:

Who has them and what type and in what combination?

Where and how did you mount it, i.e. roof or bullbar? Also if on the roof, where did you route the wires?

And can a light bar really have a long distance beam to replace a spottie?

    Pictures would also be good.

    thanks

Some people drill holes in the roof for the wires, some run them down the snorkel either inside or outside.
Light bars don't project like spotties, but offer a greater spread of light immediately in front of you.
Spotties are generally better for high speed highway driving, LED light bars make it day for about 30m in front of you, great for picking lines at night or bush bashing.

I'm glad you posted. I've been in contact with a "supplier" from China who will supply me at "special prices" if I buy 30 pieces or spend $3000, which would mean a group buy. The price you have quoted is pretty good but the output in lumens could be slightly better. That said, I might go with your supplier myself as I won't have to organize a group buy which would mean I pay slightly more to get a slightly better light output.

LED light bar good for 80m (not 30m) at about 120 deg,

mine is a el cheapo chinese ebay Light bar and could not be happier, about 12 months old, $240 from memory.

unlike spotties you can actually see the which way the roos on the sides of the road are heading

mounted on the existing ARB bar spotty brackets

I have the same on my 110 and love them.
They have come down a bit since I bought them last I saw the other day they were $169 delivered on eBay. Great light for the money.

This mob are getting some reasonable reports as well,

Saw a lightbar in action for the first time the other weekend - must say impressed by the light output, certainly filled the intermediate area between driving and headlights.

That was an interesting link, with posters like GanjaSmoker and ForeverFlyHi!! Guess it's another use for LED lightbars though
