    D4 to 110

Recently sold my SDV6SE D4 which I was very happy with.

Stupidly drove past dealer today & there was a nice MY15 110 in stock that has the options I want and in my new budget.

I was thinking seriously about a Ranger Wildtrak

Any one gone from D4 to 110?

Particularly concerned about manual as I have not driven one for years (2.4D Hilux).

Would love some feedback & opinion.
    Cheers

    Chuck

    Don't do it

Depends what you are after. If you want a truck, buy the defender. If you want a truck that drives like a car buy the ranger. The only downside to the ranger will be fuel usage loaded and slightly less off road ability compared to the defender. A ranger is bought with the head and the defender with the heart.

    Hi Chuck
I am lucky enough to have a 110 and a D4. They are chalk and cheese. The D4 is easy to drive especially in the city, quite and extremely comfortable. The 110 is an icon hard to explain why but I love driving it, turning circle in the city is a bit ordinary. It is a very basic car.
The 110 is very good off road and makes a fantastic tourer. Re driving a manual its a bit like riding a bike you never forget.
Once you get the Defender bug it won't leave you, it has tons of character.
    Enjoy.

Will you look back in life and fondly recall that you once drove a Ranger? NO. Will your kids and grand children look back and fondly say that you drove a Defender? Yes.

Had a Ranger for a week and they are nice but like most new cars you'll be bored with it inside 3 mths. Had a 90 for a week earlier this year and thinking about it still makes me smile. I'd prefer a 110 though.

No way I'd choose a Ranger or any other modern ute over a current model Defender, unless you actually needed a ute or the ancap rating was important to you.

When was the last time anyone said the words: "Cool Wildtrak"?

Could not have said it any better.
I have gone from a D3 to a 2007 110. The only thing I regret is not doing it sooner.

    That's funny - I went from an 04 110 to a 2000 D2 and feel exactly the same way

But then I like aircon and airbags

That should read WAAAAYY less off road ability than a defender. Had a 2 inch lifted ranger with muddies and factory rear diff lock following me at sundown national park on the weekend, wow what a piece of ****, places I crawled up second gear low range in my stock 110, the ranger was hitting with quite a bit of pace and still having quite a few attempts. I was pretty disappointed with the rangers performance, also had a 2014 challenger along with us and that was laughable

I was liking the work BT50 ( ranger) but the boys reckon it crap off road (Sand)........compared the to 20 odd hi-lux on the job.

It stopped engaging low range yesterday......air con compressor replace last service......it's only 2 years old.
