Sounds like a set of extractors is the way to go plus a couple of other mods like moving the cats, fixing up the collector etc.

I expected that a snorkel would be a further restriction, hard to imagine how catching air way up behind the motor then trying to force it back along narrow long pipes with 90 degree bends involved would increase airflow. The only way it could assist is in keeping the filter cleaner for longer I expect.

I will start to look around for a decent exhaust shop next week to see who and what's available.

Does chipping improve things at all or is the standard ECU smart enough to be able to self adjust for a free flowing exhaust?

If the D2 went as well as the D1 I would be quite happy. The sad thing is the D1 runs 33's and is about 4" higher then standard and it still blows the doors off of the D2 in acceleration with standard size tyres 255/55/18's.

Thank you both Slunnie and Steve, its often more informative and makes things clearer when you can read peoples debates.

Any other ideas or recommendations for a good exhaust shop some where between Western Sydney and Canberra please feel free to make a recommendation.

    cheers,
    Terry

Just be very wary of where you position the cats,,,
you may need extra heat shields,,

The only advantage of a snorkle is clean air,,
but that outweighs all other considerations,,

    if I was doing it,,
    new extractors, 35inch primarys
throw the cats away, run twin 1 and a half pipes with a single twin lukey at the tail,,

it may not catch that D1,, but the sound will scare the pants off it

    Thanks for that Pedro,

Anyone have any recommendations for a good exhaust shop in Sydney or Canberra that has experience and produces good results in upgrading V8 Disco's?

    cheers,
    Terry
