    Unhappy Hiclone for Disco tdi1

Hi every one, has anyone had any experience with the Hiclone air fuel saver? If the Diesel is fuel injected how does spinning the air into and through a intake valve going to save fuel?
They are $160 plus postage and clame will save between 5 and 10%, any one, any one, any one

Google knows all do a search here and exploroz.com you will find many derogatory comments and occasionally a positive one.
Years ago I was gullible enough to buy a $160 piece of tin to discover that in my situation (Subaru EA82) it actually cost me additional fuel.
You need to make up your own mind buy my experience was not positive.

General opinion in the circle I move in, is that they may be of marginal benefit to the older less efficient power plants...as they age. Anything modern...a useless piece of tin.
I think perhaps you will come to the same conclusion, if you think logically about the design & development dollars spent on engine design.

I'll do you the same thing for half price. Give me $80 and I'll give you absolutely nothing in return. That's right, I won't even charge postage. That's a saving of 100% (well, it's really 50% of the original price, but we're upselling the service here).

Don't they have a 30 day money back guarantee, if so buy it try it and if it does not work send it back.
I had one on a 92 Navara and it made a difference, a friend has two on his 94 defender - after turbo and believes that it has mad a difference.
Over all most people do think they are a waste of money.

I think it's a placebo effect. You think it wil work and it does - because you drive differently.

    I wouldn't waste my money.

    Think about it.

Let's assume that they really did work and you got a few more km out of a litre of fuel. Calculate how much fuel you'd actually save per km and then, using that, calculate how many litres of fuel you could buy for the $160 (plus ongoing interest on that $160).

    Option 1.
Take your $160 and go into the city and give it to the nearest homeless person you find. You will have done something positive with your money, 'cause if you are going to throw money away, at least this way it will give you a warm feeling inside.

    Option 2.
If that's too much to bear, then take the partner out for a good meal and a drop of chardy. She'll appreciate it and at least you got something for your money

    Option 3.
Go into the Cross and give your money to a lady for her company for an hour. That will give you a warm felling inside, too.
