    Question

    Old thread I know but............
I'm having probs along a similar line but different LOL, just had the radiator & motor flushed, cleaned & rodded. I also by-passed the heater (thinking this might be part of prob after reading this as hose's are a bit folded over) straight after but am still getting erratic overheating but nowhere near as bad or often. I can be driving along the hwy & everything is where it's supposed to be i.e. temp gauge sits on about 1/4, when all of a sudden up it goes, oh & don't get me started on stop start inner city traffic. What is really weird is sometimes it'll go down by itself & others all it takes is a 2min stop then it'll be fine
The front floor pan & especially the transmission tunnel are also quite warm most of the time, is this normal?? When it's hot the bonnet is really (read, really really) hot to open so I know its not a faulty gauge. the engine runs smooth as but can be hard to start at times as it seems to flood. An RACQ mechanic showed me that taking the fuel pump fuse out when this happens then starting, then putting it back in when it stalls works. Could this have anything to do with overheating?
    Thanks guys

Hmmph, just hooked the heater hoses back up & remembered why I disconnected them, on or off it's hot air. Ahh well there goes that idea, I did notice that when revving the hell out of it & radiator small cap off it there did seem to be bubbles. Also seemed to be steam/vapours coming out of expansion tank.

Hi my 3.9 manual S1, sits exactly on half regardless of temp, driving cond, load, ect with or without the air cond on, where as my old RR after doing every thing posable to the cooling system, still would get up around 100 deg with the slightest load... Gary
