LT85 Santana 5 speed & LT230

FWIW here's the the slinger that goes behind the PTO cover.

Basically it is a plate of 2mm steel plate the same dimensions as the pto cover plate,with a piece of 25mm od pipe 40mm long split lengthways and welded to the centre of the 2mm plate this when fitted is inside of the input gear,the idea is the oil splashing about catchs in this piece of guttering and runs onto the inside of gear and lubes the splines,have had mine on a long time since i fitted a new input gear on the old shaft no wear as yet and when removed for inspection nicely lubricated and not the usual dry rust/sludge.

The second one looks like the Roverdrive sump.

The first one looks interesting? Be less troublesome than the electric pump mine will have in the long term.

I nearly done mine this way, but plan to fit a pto hydraulic set up when I get my hands on one.

yes, I already have the Hyd PTO set up so that option is no good for me either. I have emailed Ashcroft regarding the sump gear pump, so far they have showed me the Canadian ones. I have sent Dave the pic, hopefully they will know something about it.............

unfortunately Dave does not know who makes them. I will try on LR4x4....

If this remote pump doesnt work well for me, I would change mine over.

That flinger is different to the one my father has. It fits in the bearing plate that is held by the 2 counter sunk bolts and has a shaft that fits quite snugly in the end of the input gear with a oil gallery cut in it sort of like a tread which is cut in the direction that when driving forward it drags the oil in and onto the spline. I'll pop it out tomorrow and take a photo of it and post it if I can work out how to do that.

the picture I attached of the sump with gear pump in ti is apparently from a lt95 NOT lt230.....which would make sense do to the wide application and work of the lt95....

I have just ordered the same sump as Rangier Rover from British Off Road

BTW, how much for the Rocky Mountain sump ?
