Is there any possibility you could be hearing the oil centrifuge spinning, and mistake the noise for the turbo?

I had the same problem on mine 3 times...

Apparently its a common problem, and Bruce Davis landys, who know there stuff do a Upgrade of the Head stud size.

Im pretty sure it was from 8mm to 10mm, but it could have benn from 10mm to 12mm, whatever the standard is, up 2mm in size.

From then on, never had it again.

I was sick of the SQUEALING sound, and due to the COST, as it was a fair bit of labour to remove everything, drill and tap, remachine the slightly warped manifold, i put it off for a bit.

As soon as it was done, PERFECT, never a noise again.

Bruce told me that was mainly common around 100 000km, and in cars towing, or under heavy load..

Thats only my experience, hope it helps.

I'm going to add this post in here to avoid starting another thread as I'm sure there is something on this site about this but not sure what to search for. The Disovery (2001 TD5 Auto) got a flat battery, after jump starting it now runs but has a flashing 'M' and 'S' light on the dash and is in limp home mode, (stuck in 2nd gear or so). Can anyone advise what the issue is likely to be?
