Just a thought, what about Exhaust / heat tape. Not sure of correct name but available in rolls at Repco and any good hoon shop.

I had looked at exhaust tape but it is not as neat as a sleeve. Enzed has the fire sleeve as well as mat, so once I have the thing installed, I will make a decision on which way to go.

I think that even that convoluted tubing with an aluminium inner would be OK as the hose is not hard up against the turbo - and the hose has a 100 degree C rating anyway - but I would rather be sure than sorry!

The heat sleeve from what i saw (refer link) was more a protective cover against abraision hot fluid than a heat sheild?

If so and the inner hose can't take the heat the sleeve won't solve your problem.

Or do these heat sleeves provide heat shielding as well

The heat shield I was planning on using was primarily to protect the hoses as they run within 150mm of the turbo - albeit on the cooler side of the heat shield.

The hoses I am using can go to 100 C, however being the paranoid type , I want to make sure they can go past 200 C. I am also planning on putting a stainless heat shield around the Provent Unit as it is only rated to 120 C - overkill, maybe, but I also have a low coolant alarm, a engine block temp monitor and plan on installing a Madman! as I believe in eliminating as much risk of something untoward happening as possible.

Yep I’m now installing my EM1 unit and am thinking which low level coolant alarm I will fit.

However the question with the sleeve is will it act as a heat shield or simply a protection device.

If it doesn't act as a "shield" then your hose is still boing to be subjet to the turbo heat.
